Students need to complete their homework as stated in their communication book. Write week 9 words 1-12  2 times each, the definition once, and choose any 5 of the twelve words and make a sentence. Most of the students completed this task with my guidance in class. I would advise students to begin reading the story or begin listening to the story on YouTube. This is a difficult story to understand as it is based in rural, southern America with a platform of prejudice.

Wednesday, April 10th

The students took an open-book unit test today. I was surprised at how many of them refused to use their books. If there is another open book test in the future, students will take advantage of the opportunity and use their notes and books to assist them in finding the answers to the test.  The open-book test was already returned to the students for corrections.  Tomorrow, we will begin our new story of Satchel Paige.
