Week 7 overview

Week 7  Congratulations on finishing your exams! That's a significant accomplishment. How do you feel now that they're over? Personally, as your "new" level teacher I am pleased yet feel we need to buckle down and become serious in our academics and studies. Our class average was "ok" per the school though I am your teacher or mentor, and I see much more growth and potential in all of you. Let's try harder by following my teaching, less playing, and distractions in class focus. I know you have endured a lot of changes this year. I will do my best to assist, guide, and teach you the best study skills to help you "learn" English in the best, fun way possible to keep your interest and move forward in your educational journey.

March 25th,2024

Dear Parents and Students, In today's class, I reminded many students that this is an English learning environment and Mandarin is not allowed. I respect that the students have gone through huge changes and that the style of my teaching is very new to them. I assured them that my main goal was teaching. I am very strict in class and have high expectations for my students. I use many learning methods including activities, slides, notes, and exercises to enhance understanding of the story, and the use of sight words rather than just looking up definitions. I expect students to learn by focusing on the subject matter. They come to class with all their textbooks and the school supplies they need to take notes; highlighters, pencils, and erasers. Achieving goals and tasks in English class is my primary goal. I ask all the students to follow me in every class. I provide ample time and detailed instructions for all lessons. I will hand out weekly homework assignments the Friday before.
Dear Parents and Students, This is the "homework" for this evening 3/25 I have attached a few fun ways to learn and study for our upcoming big exam on Wednesday. I believe students will benefit from these activities as it is fun yet an effective way to learn and remember.

Teacher Introduction

Dear Parents of G5-I2 Group,  My name is Ms. Jeannie and I am very eager to motivate and help improve your child's ability to learn English with memorable and effective methods to meet their goals. The main objective of my teaching this semester is to provide a supportive learning environment that fosters language development, and social and life skills.  It is my plan this semester to provide creative useful lessons that the students can enjoy and benefit from. The goal is for I2 students to gain self-confidence and use English as their main tool to complete their thoughts, and ideas and meet their goals. I will guide the students to learn proven methods to learn English by highlighting key points and main ideas; this skimming method will enhance their English skills to improve their scores and more so their self-confidence in learning.  English Classes are conducted daily. Therefore, it is a very good habit for each student to complete all assignments and homework assigned daily
